Parental long term support
Empowering parents to better understand developmental issues following preterm birth or other precarious medical conditions and to actively participate in the implementation of best care practices are essential to improve child outcome.
The Canadian Neonatal Brain Platform provides and promotes tools such as the The Best in Daily Life website to help physicians and researchers to partner with families, regardless of their social situation or geographical location, in order to provide information and practical advice regarding the baby’s development and behaviour.
The Best in Daily Life is a project designed specifically for families with children aged 0-2 years that are born preterm or with other health issues. Our goal is to provide information and practical advice regarding the baby’s development and behaviour. It applies from the time of birth to life in the NICU to the joys and tribulations back home.
Throughout the program, you will learn to pick up on cues and better understand your child’s behaviour. Along the way, you can try suggested activities that stimulate the baby’s growth and development.
